July 15, 2020 | Streaming – Brooklyn Rider performs “borderlands…” by Matana Roberts. Healing Modes is Brooklyn Rider’s latest recording that explores the interconnection of music and healthfulness. The recording is available on In a Circle Records and includes Beethoven’s A Minor, Op. 132 along with five commissions. Brooklyn Rider performed Healing Modes at BMCM+AC in 2018. One of the new commissions on Healing Modes is “borderlands…” by composer Matana Roberts.
May 21, 2020 | Web-based – Material Sound at Home is a new virtual experience that expands the ideas of the 2019 exhibition “Material Sound and Black Mountain College” within the context of the COVID-19 global crisis and lockdowns. Artists from the exhibition, Peter Blamey, Vicky Browne, Pia van Gelder, and Jenn Grossman, explore Material Sound through original performances recorded from their homes and home studios across Australia and in New York.

This lively and compelling new book by journalist and author Marilyn Chase is the first biography of this major American artist.
