A new film by multidisciplinary artist Coco Villa. Presented by BMCM+AC in conjunction with the current exhibition I AM A CITIZEN OF THE WORLD.
While Coco Villa uses their body as the primary subject in their work, their creative process transcends the boundaries of any one art form. Villa’s exploration of identity, memory, and the pursuit of pleasure exists at the intersection of sustainable fashion design, dance, photography, and film. Villa’s movement practice with their textiles, as both object and performing cloth, is simultaneously playful and immemorial. This is an interactive art form; at its core, Villa hopes that the involvement of strangers and improvisation activates space for connection and experimentation.
