FIELD TRIPS

Our field trips can accommodate learners of all levels and are a great way to connect students with cultural history. Class visits explore a variety of themes based on our current exhibition at the time of your visit, while also providing an introduction to the history of Black Mountain College and its associated artists, writers, and educators. Students will find connections to their own lived experiences and connect this history of BMC with the present-day, considering innovative new ways to problem solve, observe, and experiment. Please contact Kira Houston, Outreach Coordinator, to plan a visit: kira@blackmountaincollege.org. We are happy to work with you to tailor a visit to your classroom.

BMCM+AC staff can also work with educators to develop a Virtual Field Trip for school groups at a distance. We are always open to customizing and creating new lessons based on your curriculum. Please see our Education Information Sheet here for more information, including a sample virtual field trip guide. Reach out to us at info@blackmountaincollege.org to learn more.
