The call is open to all Western North Carolina based artists. ARTISTS OF ALL GENRES are encouraged to apply; this includes but is not limited to performance, sculpture, installation, multimedia, interaction, sound, spoken word, painting, photography, film, and video. Selected projects will premiere at the {Re}HAPPENING on Saturday April 5, 2014 at Camp Rockmont in Black Mountain.

Artists should take risks and demonstrate elements of spontaneity, experimentation, collaboration, audience participation and even transcend discipline boundaries. Competitive project proposals will reflect the innovative spirit of Black Mountain College and demonstrate an original, inventive, and clear vision.

This year’s event marks the fifth annual {Re}HAPPENING – a fundraising event for both Black Mountain College Museum + Art Center and The Media Arts Project. The evening re-imagines Black Mountain College’s tradition of Saturday night parties and performances and honors the dynamic energy and groundbreaking innovations of the artists of the historic Black Mountain College. Meanwhile, the event launches a contemporary platform for artists and patrons to experience adventurous art and creativity in the present day. More than eighty artists from our region’s diverse creative community will come together to create and share art and on the grounds of the original campus and in the spirit of Black Mountain College.
