In addition to Jason’s take over of our feed and stories, plan to join him for a conversation with Julia K Gleich.
Julia K Gleich, choreographer and founder of Gleich Dances joins Jason Andrew to talk about the collaborative event they co-produced that took place on August 6, 2011 at the Masonic Temple in downtown Asheville.
UNTITLED (as of yet), presented in collaboration with BMCM+AC, united two communities, Asheville + New York City, and drew inspiration from the momentous Theater Piece (No.1) by John Cage, performed in the summer of 1952 at Black Mountain College. UNTITLED was a re-visitation, a re-happening, performed live for the public that brought together an assortment of planned and spontaneous performances featuring new dances by JULIA K. GLEICH and ANN DUNN with musical direction by MATTHEW RICHMOND, solo accompaniment by HENRY WESTMORELAND and set and costume by TAMARA GONZALES; and included invited guests performer / musician ELISA FAIRES; poets TIM PEELER, TED POPE, and ERIC STEINEGER; dancer / choreographer JANICE LANCASTER with projection designer ADAM LARSEN.
